Our Story
I took over a small farmstall in 2010 from my late Mum-in-law Louise Stevenson, who had been selling beautiful Orchids on the N4 to passing customers since the 80s!
I had been a travel agent for 15 years but I have always had a passion to create a beautiful boutique farmstall and therefore decided to take the big scary jump.
My vision was to develop a unique shopping experience by buying locally sourced homegrown products, preserves, beautiful home decor and ceramics. We later added a small retail nursery selling flowering shrubs, cycads, fruit & indigenous trees as well as indoor plants and a large variety of orchid species.
The combination of my creative spirit and my husband’s business brain is the reason the Orchid Farmstall is what it is today.
In 2019, we decided to open an open-air coffee shop so that our customers could experience our luscious gardens. The Coffee shop has grown into a lively business and hub for gatherings. It is frequented by locals for breakfast & lunch as well as serving as a lovely outing for town folk.
We added a garden venue in 2020 which has become a popular choice for a range of small functions like bridal blessings, baby showers and small intimate birthday celebrations.
